Duna Garden Hotel Wedding
Dóri & Viktor
Dóri stood under a flower-covered arch by the Little Danube and tried to read her vows out loud. She got a few words in, hid her face in the page, and let the tears come. Viktor held the microphone steady and waited. That was the moment the whole day pivoted around.
Their Duna Garden Hotel wedding in May was the kind of day you feel in the photos before you read about it. The venue sits at the foot of the Gubacsi bridge, on the Ráckevei-Soroksári Danube branch just south of Budapest. Built from old boathouses, all river views and slow water.

A Riverside Ceremony at Duna Garden Hotel
Duna Garden is one of those venues that does the heavy lifting for you. The river is right there. The light bounces off the water late into the evening. The team had set up a flower arch on the pier, and that was where Dóri and Viktor stood to say everything.
The morning happened in a suite upstairs. Dressed on the bedroom beam, makeup done with a phone tucked under one ear, personalised vőlegény and menyasszony hangers waiting on the bed. Slow morning prep, no rushing.
Portraits at the Zsámbék Ruins
Between the ceremony and the reception, we drove out to the 13th-century Premonstratensian monastery ruins at Zsámbék, about half an hour west of Budapest. Roofless gothic arches, weathered stone, a rose window opening onto the sky.
I love what this contrast does for a gallery. Soft river greenery on one side, 800-year-old walls on the other. Same couple, two different worlds.

Dinner, Dancing, and a Blue Hour Kiss
The restaurant looked exactly as the hotel promised. White linen, tall martini-glass centrepieces, that sweep of yellow and brown chairs around the long tables. The singer warmed everyone up. Dóri’s grandfather pulled her onto the dance floor and held her like he’d been waiting for this dance for years.
When the light started to go, we slipped outside to the pontoon. That kiss with the sky turning navy and the water holding the last orange? Worth every minute we waited for it.

Thinking about
A Wedding at Duna Garden Hotel?
Hi, I’m Eszter, a wedding photographer originally from Hungary, which means destination weddings out here feel like coming home. Dóri and Viktor booked me without ever asking for a shot list or a mood board. They wanted someone who’d be present, stay out of the way, and bring the day back to them as it felt to them.
That’s what a documentary style is for. You don’t need a plan. You just need your people and a venue you love. I’ll handle the rest.
Have a look at my wedding packages and send me a note about your date.
