Rubin Hotel Autumn Menu
Food Photography Budapest
Autumn menus always feel a little more considered. The ingredients shift, the colours deepen, and suddenly every plate has more to say before anyone takes a bite.
I was back at Rubin Wellness & Conference Hotel Budapest to photograph their new autumn menu. A full spread from drinks through to dessert — and everything in between. This is some of what we made during the autumn food photography shoot.

What the Shoot Covered
We started with drinks. A row of pressed juice carafes on glass shelving, each one a different colour — lime green through blush pink to deep beetroot red. Then mason jars of lemonade with mint, citrus, and ice, set against a wooden crate with trays of food, soft in the background.
From there: a bruschetta platter with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, and microgreens, alongside a tomato-and-aged-cheese version. A slate board of canapes, wraps, tartlets, and crêpe rolls. Burrata with roasted cherry tomatoes and pesto. A smooth green cream soup with toasted sourdough. A bacon burger with fries on a red tray. Sliced pink meat with potato pancakes and crispy fried onions. Pan-seared salmon on bulgur wheat with tomatoes. Conchiglie pasta with prawns, olives, and tomato sauce. Chicken breast on carrot purée with duchess potato rounds.
And the desserts. A poppy seed cake slice with torched meringue and berry coulis. A cylindrical walnut biscuit filled with cream and topped with blueberries. Chocolate mousse domes with berry compote and green spun-sugar decorations. And a three-tier stand of macarons, éclairs, flower-shaped shortbreads, and pistachio squares.
Every dish is photographed close and clean. Natural light where it worked, careful framing throughout. Nothing was styled beyond what the kitchen had already done.

Why Menu Photography Is Worth Getting Right
A menu photograph is a decision before a decision. It’s the image someone scrolls past at 11 pm that makes them want to book a table tomorrow. When those images are honest and well-made, they do exactly what they should. When they’re not, the gap between expectation and reality shows up at the door.

Thinking about
Food Photography for Your Hotel or Venue?
Hi, I’m Eszter, a Bristol brand and food photographer working with hospitality businesses across the UK and Europe. As someone originally from Hungary, the Rubin Hotel shoot felt genuinely close to home.
The kitchen team had a new seasonal menu ready. They wanted images that showed exactly what was on the plate and why it was worth ordering. No fuss, no heavy styling — just food that looks the way it tastes.
If you have an autumn or winter menu coming and you want images that actually represent it, I’d love to hear what you’re planning. Head to the enquiry form and tell me what you need.
