Today, I want to take you on a little journey back to a special day I had the privilege of photographing—Torockó’s unique confirmation ceremony on July 9. This small Transylvanian village, nestled between the dramatic Székelykő and Ordaskő mountains, was the setting for a truly unforgettable event steeped in culture, history, and deep-rooted faith.

A Time-Honored Tradition in the Heart of Transylvania
Torockó is a village like no other. With its population of around 550 mostly Hungarian, Unitarian residents, it feels like stepping into another world, where time has a slower pace, and traditions are cherished. One of the most precious of these traditions is the annual confirmation ceremony, an event that becomes more special with each passing year as fewer and fewer people take part.
On this particular day, I was lucky enough to document participants dressed in beautiful, traditional Székely clothing, some pieces dating back almost two centuries. As an events photographer, moments like these are a dream—the fusion of history, culture, and personal stories coming together in such a visually stunning way.
These aren’t just any outfits. They’re a symbol of the connection to the past, passed down through generations, adding an extra layer of meaning to the ceremony. For me, capturing these details is what professional event photography is all about. It’s not just about the big moments but the small, intimate ones that tell the whole story.
